The Principals

Amy Risley, President - Amy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas. She is licensed to practice law in the states of Kansas and Missouri. Amy started Resolution Services, LLC with her partner, Patrick Whalen, after working as a labor and employment law attorney representing management at the Department of Justice. Amy has practiced before the EEOC and the Federal Labor Relations Authority, providing a litigator's view as to how to prevent and handle employee disputes. Amy has trained hundreds of federal and private sector investigators, counselors, human resources professionals and attorneys in the areas of investigating, EEO Law, conflict resolution and other employment law issues. Amy is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Patrick Whalen, Vice President - Pat received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from La Verne College and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. Pat is a retired Senior Executive Service federal manager, having served as a federal prison warden at four different institutions. Pat has supervised hundreds of staff during his 20-year career. His experience and knowledge as a senior-level executive provides our clients with practical, time-tested advice for managing employees. For the past three years, Pat has supervised and/or conducted over 500 workplace investigations. Pat is a licensed private investigator.
